Every fraction of a second matters when your race lasts less than two minutes. That shared understanding of time makes Audrey Werro’s arrival at Omega feel especially fitting. The Swiss middle-distance runner joins the watchmaker as its newest ambassador following a breakthrough season that has firmly established her among athletics' most exciting young talents.
The partnership brings together two names that have long measured success through precision. During a visit to Omega’s headquarters in Biel, Werro discovered the craftsmanship and heritage behind the Swiss House, whose connection to athletics stretches back almost a century. “Among athletes, Omega is a hugely respected brand,” she says. “We all know the company for its role as Official Timekeeper and as a prestigious watchmaker, so I'm incredibly proud to become part of its family of ambassadors, especially because it represents my home country, Switzerland.”
It has already been a defining year for the 800-metre specialist. Werro claimed silver at the World Athletics Indoor Championships before rewriting the Swiss record books with a 1:53.98 victory at the Stockholm Diamond League. Weeks later, she went even faster in Paris, stopping the clock at 1:53.80 to set another national record and further strengthen her position among the world's leading middle-distance runners.
For Omega, the announcement continues a relationship with athletics that began in 1932, when the brand first became Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games. Since then, countless defining sporting moments have unfolded under its watch. “Since the beginning of her career, Audrey has continued to break records, and we believe she has a brilliant future ahead of her,” says Omega President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann. Having already represented Switzerland at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Werro now looks ahead to the next chapter of her career, with Los Angeles 2028 already on the horizon and the stopwatch still very much at the centre of the story.
