Over the past year, threetwenty have been quietly shaping a space for themselves within contemporary R&B. Their music has circulated steadily online, finding listeners through consistency and emotional honesty. Today, that journey reaches a new point with the release of their debut album, separate from the noise, now available across streaming platforms.
The project brings together Nigerian-American singer and songwriter Ivana Nwokike and Swedish producer Filip Hunter, a husband-and-wife duo whose collaboration grew out of personal and creative realignment. Both artists come from demanding musical environments, but threetwenty reflects a deliberate move toward restraint, clarity, and depth in both sound and message.
Blending neo-soul, hip hop, and jazz-inflected funk, separate from the noise builds on themes already present in the duo’s earlier releases. Songs like blessed like that and let me grow resonated widely over the past year, connecting with listeners through reflections on loss, faith, and growth. The light (i need you) further expanded their reach, followed by a first live performance at London’s Jazz Café that confirmed the strength of their emerging audience.
The album develops this language across ten tracks, favouring warmth and groove. Ivana’s vocals remain close and expressive, while Filip’s production focuses on texture and flow, allowing each song to unfold with patience. Rather than aiming for impact through excess, the record moves at its own pace, grounded in repetition and emotional presence. As the duo explain, “separate from the noise is to be set apart. It’s also describing where we’ve been in life and will be.”
